JON MOZO

THIS IS A PICTURE OF JON MOZO AT PIPELINE AS A MEMORIAL. HE PASSED AWAY OUT AT PIPELINE IN 2005. I WAS ACTUALLY SURFING THAT MORNING AND IT WAS A REALLY GOOD DAY OUT THERE. I WENT IN AND STRAIGHT TO WORK AND WHEN I GOT TO WORK I HEARD THE NEWS ABOUT JON. MY HEART SANK! I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT MY FRIEND HAD PASSED AWAY AND I WAS JUST THERE!

I REMEMBER JON MOZO GROWING UP SURFING ONE OF MY FAVORITE EAST SIDE SPOTS. I WOULD ALWAYS SEE HIM RIPPING THIS PLACE AND HE WOULD BE WITH A COUPLE OF THE BOYS FROM THE AREA. HE WAS VERY HUMBLE AND QUIET IN THE WATER. I DID SOME WORK WITH JON AND HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND GOOD AT WHAT HE DID.

ANYWAY AS YOU MAY KNOW HE HAD BECOME A WELL KNOWN OCEAN PHOTOGRAPHER AND HIS WORK WAS ALL OVER THE ISLANDS AND PROBABLY THE WORLD. PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER HIM BY HIS BEAUTIFUL PHOTO’S BUT I WILL REMEMBER HIM AS A HUMBLE, GENEROUS, KIND AND ONE OF THE MOST NICEST HUMAN BEINGS I’VE MET! JON GAVE THE MEANING OF THE ALOHA SPIRIT!

P.S. PLEASE CHECK OUT HIS WEB SITE http://www.jonmozo.com/
